Connie Hale-Duncan

Connie Hale-Duncan J.K 16 001Connie was married to Tom Hale for thirty-three years.  He died on May 15, 2009 from colon cancer.  Connie has since remarried Rick Duncan a southern gentleman from Georgia. Connie is the mother of three adult sons: Christopher, Dean, and Joel.  She has a grandson named Thomas Hale.

After thirty-two years, Connie retired from teaching elementary school.  She received a B.A., B.Ed., and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Windsor.

Connie’s ‘second calling’ led her to minister to children at a local church for several years as a pastor in the Children and Family Ministry.  Connie worked in a nursing home as a chaplain, and is currently ministering as a congregational pastor.

In the wake of grieving the death of a mother who suffered from heart disease; a husband who fought and lost the battle with cancer; receiving the tragic diagnosis of a son’s schizophrenia; a father who struggled with a bondage to alcohol leading him to suicide; and while ministering to the sick and the elderly, she was faced with choosing hope over despair.

Using her gifts of teaching and speaking Connie has traveled to many cities to teach at women’s conferences, retreats, churches and organizations.  She offers a message of ‘hope’ teaching people to rise above their seemingly-hopeless circumstances of grief, death, broken relationships, disease, abuse and mental illness, encouraging them to place their trust in Jesus Christ and fully embrace the abundant life He has promised!

Her current book Champion of Hope describes a journey of healing through grief and loss.  The death of a loved one, the loss of health, the loss of youth during the aging process, the loss of one’s self-esteem through verbal abuse, sexual abuse, addictions, mental illness and broken relationships are depicted in her book.  It is a book that celebrates a God who comes to save, deliver, and transform us—He turns victims into victors.
